The team of Deputy President William Ruto seems to be getting bigger and stronger as more leaders vow to support him ahead of the 2022 General Elections.
Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama who recently joined Ruto’s camp had a message for the DP after meeting delegates from Kiamba.
Muthama who has been vocal fighting for Ruto and trying to bring more members from his backyard to join the ‘Hustler Nation’ met with the delegates at Kiamba Center on Wednesday.
Muthama said the delegates vowed to support the deputy president as he seeks to clinch the country’s top seat come 2022.
“Hosting Nairobi Kiamba delegates at Kiamba Center, Mua-Hills. The delegation has vowed to champion for the Hustler Nation and going forward it’s @WilliamsRuto,” said Muthama.
Muthama recently clashed with his former party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, after his decision to work with Ruto and trying to convince Kalonzo to join the DP’s team.
Kalonzo who is the Wiper party leader told Muthama that he will not support Ruto since he wants to be in the ballot.
“Do you think Kalonzo can be Ruto’s vice president? This is my question to you. Do you think my respect can allow me to deputise Ruto? This time round I have decided I do not need anyone to negotiate on my behalf,” said Kalonzo.
Muthama however said that he does not want anything from Ruto adding that he supports the DP after members from Wiper party lost their positions after President Uhuru Kenyatta cracked the whip.
“I am not with Ruto because I need anything but because of the people. I was in Wiper but I am in shock that the government you are supporting removed the leadership at Nairobi County,” said Muthama.
